Women of Faith
If you've never been to a Women of Faith weekend, you are really missing out. I've been blessed to have been able to go three times. The speakers are phenomenal. The singers are out of this world. And the praise and worship with the voices of thousands of women is inspirational.
When I heard that Steven Curtis Chapman AND Mandisa were going to be in the same building during one weekend, I knew I had to go. Boy am I glad I did! My soul has been so dry. My spirit has been so empty. I needed this weekend. And I needed it bad!
Getting to take a road trip with these three gals was the icing on the cake. We talked. We laughed. We cried. We did some silly things. We prayed. We worshiped. And we all left the weekend filled.
I don't know if listening to Steven Curtis Chapman share his heart about losing his daughter or meeting and grooving with Mandisa was my favorite part. Mandisa is a beautiful woman. I thought a lot about what made me think she was so beautiful. Was it her smile? Her skin? Her eyes? After pondering for a while, I came to the conclusion that it was her heart. I figured her music was an extension of what is going on her heart and after hearing her speak, I knew that was so. She loves Jesus. And though I think Simon (and America) is crazy for not keeping her on the show, I'm kind of glad she was voted off American Idol. Call me selfish, but if she was out touring because of AI, we wouldn't have been able to listen to her sing for us. What a blessing she was!!
